Delta, BC, Canada – SEI Industries Ltd. recently hosted Jairo Clopatofsky Ghisays, the Counsellor for Foreign Affairs from the Consul General of Colombia. The intent of this visit was to learn more about SEI Industries, its products and manufacturing processes.
Currently, SEI is working on three projects for Colombia’s civil defence system and other governmental entities that includes deploying Bambi buckets, Jungle King fuel storage tanks, pump systems, Bulk Aviation Transportation Tanks (BATT) and TacFuels monitoring system products.
SEI has been active in the Colombian market for more than 20 years supporting its armed forces. SEI has developed many long-term strategic relationships that have enabled the company to be very responsive to the needs of its customers in Colombia.
- In 2007, SEI developed the Jungle King tank which was a response to collapsible fuel tank problems associated with the US mil-spec tank. The Jungle King tank became the first tank in the world designed specifically for the jungle environment.
- In 2010, SEI developed the Bulk Aviation Transport Tank (BATT) to support the Colombian Army and private operators who needed a safe and certified method to transport bulk fuel by air to remote bases. The BATT went on to win four awards and is approved for use by Colombian Civil Aviation. It is currently in use by civilian and military operators in Colombia and other countries as well.
- Now, in 2013, SEI is in the process of supporting the Colombian Army to develop remote monitoring capabilities for its fuel caches. This initiative builds on a 2012 partnership between SEI and Varec, maker of TacFuels monitoring systems. As the exclusive distributor in Colombia for Varec, SEI has been busy integrating the TacFuels system to work seamlessly with SEI’s Jungle King tanks. This solution will provide real time inventory management and leak detection of vital fuel caches all over Colombia.
