About the Bambi Bucket®
SEI Industries Ltd. first introduced the original
Bambi Bucket to the firefighting community in 1982. This lightweight, strong, flexible firefighting bucket, with its relatively low-cost ‘plug-n-play’ capability, promoted usage of helicopters on wildfires and saw immediate success as a firefighting tool. By combining the Bambi Bucket with SEI's already-existing water storage tanks and bladders for fire suppression, a sought after and valuable product line was created.

Today, more than 25 years later, SEI services more than 90% of the world's aerial firefighting water bucket market. Globally, the
Bambi Bucket brand is known amongst firefighting agencies and it has become synonymous with aerial firefighting. The legendary
Bambi Bucket is now used in more than 110 countries around the world by more than 1,000 helicopter operators.

In building the various bucket models its offers, SEI uses materials that can withstand the forces of nature that buckets experience when slung under a helicopter over the fire line.

Support for Fire and Land Managers
Given that many of the industry leaders in aerial firefighting are also involved in either working with or working for land management agencies, SEI has grown to expand its equipment product line by developing both aerial and ground ignition devices.
Recognizing that the market needed a replacement for the existing 30-year-old plastic sphere dispensers (PSDs), SEI developed the
Dragon Fire Ignition product line to meet the modern fire managers need for improved technology that increases safety, reliability and performance when conducting controlled burns.
With patents pending on both automated aerial and ground ignition plastic sphere dispensers, SEI also manufacturers high-quality plastic ignition spheres known as
Dragon Eggs – the latest in delayed chemical ignition devices.
